Ak' Tenamit needs help for it's Health Program
Ak' Tenamit expanded its village health care program in 2006 from 32 to 125 villages and now provides basic healthcare for more than 25,000 people. Our healthcare needs have grown exponentially, and we desperately need supplies and equipment.

Here are some needs your Rotary Club could donate for:

• Vaccines and medicines for a village of 400 people for one year costs just $600.
• Medical posts used by village health promoters, midwives and the Ak' Tenamit health team. An examination table, desk, chair, medicine cabinet and privacy screen costs $1,000.
• Solar flashlights with Rotary insignia cost $10 each, so it costs $500 to equip each home in a village of 50 families. (None of the 125 villages have electric power)
• A boat motor used for health team visits to the 30 villages along the river costs $1,750.
• An othoscope and stethoscope for a village medical post cost $200.

The Guatemalan Tomorrow Fund Inc. is the nonprofit (501c3) fundraising arm of Ak' Tenamit. We coordinate all Rotary donations and work team visits to Ak' Tenamit. We transfer earmarked funds to Ak' Tenamit and provide required reports, photos, receipts, etc.
